Rescue 7-1 was built by the
Marque Corporation on a 1994 Ford E350 Chassis. The truck is diesel
powered and responds to approximately 550 first aid calls per year. Reserve
7-1 is quartered at the East and West Station is Advanced Life Support (ALS)
equipped. Reserve has approximately twenty-five (25) firefighters who are
certified as Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians, Basic Emergency
Medical Technicians, or First Responders. Reserve was the first fire
company in the Town of West Seneca to provide ALS service to Town
residents. This level of care commenced in 1984 and has continued, uninterrupted,
to this day.
Both are Reserve 7 and 7-1
are fully equipped as transport vehicles. Patient transport to Western New
York Hospitals by these rigs is based upon a determination by the Fire
Chief as each call dictates. Each truck is equipped with a variety of
first aid and rescue equipment, including but not limited to; back boards,
Kendrick Extrication Devices (KED), various air and traction splints,
diagnostic equipment, cervical collars, various intravenous solutions, and
automatic defibrillators. |
