4/4/09 - Reserve stops structure fire in it's tracks

A residential structure fire that engulfed the 2 car garage of a house on Erwin was stopped dead in it's tracks this evening by crews from Reserve, Vigilant and East Seneca. Crews were alerted shortly before 7 PM this evening and as Reserve 9 called on location with fire from the garage, fire had already swept through one of the two cars in the garage. The 2nd car was removed by firefighters however the quick moving blaze destroyed the attached garage. Firefighters worked quickly to stop the fire from spreading extensively into the living space and prevent further damage. Pictures at www.ecfwire.com
 

 
12/15/08 - Reserve F.A.S.T. requested for fire on Transit Road

Reserve's Firefighter Assist and Search Team (F.A.S.T.) was alerted shortly before 0600 hours today as East Seneca Fire Company confirmed a working structure fire on Transit Road. Crews from East Seneca, Springbrook and Blossom Fire Companies battled the early morning blaze in the single story residence. Crews were met with heavy smoke conditions but worked quickly to put a good stop on the blaze.
 

 
11/21/08 - Reserve responds to Orchard Park for stubborn house fire

An early morning call for a house fire in Orchard Park pressed Reserve's F.A.S.T. into action. The fire which worked it's way into the walls and roof made it difficult fight. 10 different companies from the Southern Erie County were called to assist with the firefight. The original structure was a 100+ old farm house. However, numerous renovations to the house left a number of places for fire to hide making it difficult to find and extinguish.

 
10/16/08 - "Jaws of Life" used to free driver

A two car MVA sent 2 people to the hospital early this evening on the westbound portion of the New York State Thruway near the Lackawanna tolls. Two occupants from the white sedan were taken by ambulance to area hospitals. Upon arrival Reserve 9-2 notified WS Dispatch that extrication would be needed to free the driver of the white sedan. Crews from Reserve 5 and Reserve 7 provided patient care to three total patients and used the "Jaws of life" to gain access to the driver.

 
4/25/08 - Car Fire on Langner Road

Multiple calls were made to WS Dispatch for a car fire on Langner Road at the entrance to Delta Sonic this afternoon around 1500 hours. Reserve 9 arrived on location with an engine compartment fire. Crews from Reserve 1 & 2 gained access through the fiberglass hood and extinguished the fire with no extension to the interior of the vehicle.
 

 
4/16/08 - MVA at East & West Road and Mill Road sends 3 to the hospital

A two car MVA sent 3 people to the hospital this morning at the intersection of East & West Road and Mill Road. Two occupants from the Minivan and one drive from the white car were taken by ambulance to area hospitals.
 

 
1/28/08 - Fire in Springbrook Fire District

Reserve's F.A.S.T. was put into action in the wee hours of the morning today, dispatched upon the confirm structure fire on Queen St. Erie County Sheriff's and Springbrook 9 called an initial report of heavy fire from a structure adjacent to the residence upon arrival. The fire was located in a large 2+ garage to the rear of the property. East Seneca 1 was first due and advanced two 1 3/4" hand lines to knock the bulk of the fire down with tank water. Springbrook 2 fed supply and the fire was under control in a short time. The garage contained an auto and on the #4 side, two large acetylene tanks were stored and appeared to be superheated upon arrival. Crews used extreme caution pertaining to these tanks. The heat damage to the siding on the house is evident in the pictures, as well as the only remaining wall from the garage is noticeable below. The dispatch came just after 0300 hours.
 

 
1/25/08 - Garage Fire on Lisa Ann

Quick work by firefighters saved a house on Lisa Ann this afternoon. Reserve & Vigilant were dispatched for a garage fire on Lisa Ann late this afternoon. Reserve 9-1 called on location with smoke from the residence and assumed command. Reserve Engine 2 arrived first due and laid a 1 3/4 line through the front door and made an excellent attack, holding the intense fire to the attached garage. Reserve 9 arrived and received command, placing Reserve 9-1 into the role of Operations. Reserve Truck 6 established a water supply for Engine 2 and conducted the ventilation operations. The fire was put under control a short time later and as visible in the pictures, a large amount of overhaul was required. Vigilant, East Seneca also assisted on scene as well as Orchard Park's F.A.S.T.
