1/28/08 - F.A.S.T. Call on Queen St.

Reserve's F.A.S.T. was put into action in the wee hours of the morning today, dispatched upon the confirm structure fire on Queen St. Erie County Sheriff's and Springbrook 9 called an initial report of heavy fire from a structure adjacent to the residence upon arrival. The fire was located in a large 2+ garage to the rear of the property. East Seneca 1 was first due and advanced two 1 3/4" hand lines to knock the bulk of the fire down with tank water. Springbrook 2 fed supply and the fire was under control in a short time. The garage contained an auto and on the #4 side, two large acetylene tanks were stored and appeared to be superheated upon arrival. Crews used extreme caution pertaining to these tanks. The heat damage to the siding on the house is evident in the pictures, as well as the only remaining wall from the garage is noticeable below. The dispatch came just after 0300 hours.
